A partnership framework agreement signed by CReSA and CESAC

The agreement establishes a partnership in the scientific and technological fields of common interest and includes the joint participation in R&D projects, both at regionally level and at a national or international level.

On the 5th of December 2013, 5, the Director of the Center for Animal Health Research (Centre de Recerca en Sanitat Animal, CReSA), Joaquim Segalés, and the Director of Programs of the Center of Bird-raising Health of Catalonia and Aragon (Centre de Sanitat Avícola de Catalunya i Aragó, CESAC), Ramón Jové, signed an agreement in order to tighten relationships, combine efforts and agree far-reaching performance standards that increment, within a pre-established framework, their existing contacts and collaboration agreements.

CReSA carries out training and research activities as well as scientific and technological development activities, since the center is interested in collaborating with the socio-economic sectors in order to ensure one of the research goals: the innovation and modernization of the production system. CESAC’s mission consists of providing assistance to and information on the poultry farms health problems, as a support to the actions performed by the poultry sector of Catalonia and Aragon in the production and marketing of their products.

In order to establish synergies, the different collaboration procedures will consider various aspects, such as the carrying out of projects and research and development programs, the reciprocal provision of technical services, infrastructures and mutual counseling, the cooperation in staff permanent training programs, the organization of activities related with the social promotion of the research, the exchange of staff for a limited period and other programs and/or projects of common interest. In fact, during the last year a research project has already been carried out, which was coordinated between both centers and has allowed the study of different aspects in the outbreak of the avian adenovirus that the poultry of our country is suffering.
